Music has always been a big part of my life. When I was six, I started taking piano lessons from my neighbor next door.
I played the piano for three years and all I have to show for it is this one video from when I was nine.
Unfortunately shortly after this video my great grandmother's piano went out of tune and I stopped playing it.
Three years later when I was twelve, I discovered my love for a new instrument. The guitar. My love for music and the guitar grew.
One day, I found myself in one of the practice rooms in Whalen and I decided to try to play one of the songs I learned from when I was younger.
It took me a little bit of practice, but eventually I had it down.
Playing the piano again reminded me of the passion I had for music. It made me realize that no matter how long you've been away from something, the passion and joy it brings you can always be reignited.
Even though when life gets busy we may put aside our passions, we should never forget what brings us happiness. So whether it's playing an instrument, painting, writing, or any other passion, you should always make time for it because that's what makes life worth living.
